Male arrested following proactive drug stop.

A man was arrested, and a quantity of Class A and B drugs were recovered following a proactive vehicle stop.

Yesterday evening (Thursday 12 February), officers were made aware that a vehicle of interest was travelling into Hertsmere and onto the A1.

Sergeant Buckley and PC Laycock from Potters Bar Neighbourhood Policing Team and Response team conducted searches to try and locate it.

A short while later, it was spotted heading northbound on the A1 and followed into Hitchin, where it came to a compliant stop.

A search was carried out, resulting in large quantities of various suspected Class A and Class B drugs being found, along with cash.

A man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, as well as driving without a licence or insurance. The vehicle was also seized.

He remains in police custody and investigations are continuing.
